Mommy Chronicles- Potty Training
Some kids try to practice martial arts on their own. My Ella is trying to potty train– herself. She’ll be two in a few months. She refuses to wear diapers. She screams, potty! But by the time you rush her to a potty she insist on pulling her clothing off. *Insert desperate eye rolling* It takes at least a minute and a half for her little hands to get everything in the place she wants. Then she sits and stands up. She struggles for another 2 minutes to pull her pull up on and her pants up. Then she looks in the potty. It’s empty. Because her baby bladder can’t last that long and she’s already peed in the pull up. Sad, she starts over because her pee pee was missing from the potty.
In frustration, I explained this to a friend. She said, I’m sorry Ella can’t find her pee pee. So now I try to have a little water bottle ready to trick my sweet friend. Then I give her a high five and we try again to potty later.
